Diversity Fellowship

Graham & Dunn is committed to the growth of diversity in our firm and in the local legal community.  We believe that a diverse work force enhances the services we provide our clients and creates a better work environment for our attorneys and staff.  In an effort to increase the diversity represented in our firm, and in the legal community as a whole, the firm is pleased to sponsor the Graham & Dunn 1L Diversity Fellowship.  The fellowship recipient will receive a paid summer clerkship at Graham & Dunn and a $7,500 scholarship to be applied to the law student’s second year tuition.

ELIGIBILITY

The Diversity Fellowship will be awarded based on criteria that include the following:

To apply, please submit:
  1. Resume
  2. Complete transcript of undergraduate grades (unofficial copies are acceptable);
  3.  First semester law school grades (when available);
  4. A short personal statement of no more than 500 words describing your interest in the Graham & Dunn Diversity Fellowship and how you would contribute to the diversity of the legal profession;
  5. A legal writing sample (no more than 10 pages) reflecting applicant’s ability to present and analyze legal issues and that has not been significantly edited by others; and
  6. A list of three academic or professional references.

Out of Area Applicants

If you are attending law school outside of Western Washington, please include a cover letter explaining your connection to Seattle, and also state whether you will be in Seattle over the holidays.  We encourage out of area applicants who will be in Seattle over the holidays to submit applications early, so that we may take advantage of a pre-planned trip to Seattle.
