______________________________________________________________________J.J.’s practice focuses on closely-held and emerging businesses with an emphasis on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions and strategic planning serving the role of an “outside general counsel.” J.J. works in depth with his clients and their companies to help them find practical business solutions to their legal problems. His clients span a variety of companies including real estate, technology, bio-technology, viticulture and timber industries, as well as high net worth families.
An acknowledged expert on valuation issues for small business, J.J. has written and spoken on this subject for the past twenty-five years, starting with his MBA thesis and Law Review comment which both focused on valuation. He has chaired numerous Bar Committees, including the Law School Liaison Committee and the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Committee. He also chaired the MCLE Task Force that reviewed and revised the CLE rules for the first time since CLE was introduced.
