______________________________________________________________________Stacey Walters practices in the area of media law serving as general counsel for highly acclaimed filmmakers (who have had their films selected by Sundance and Cannes) and television production companies (that produce television series for the networks). As general counsel, she advises on all aspects of production including rights clearance, licensing, content review (for defamation, privacy and access issues), talent and crew contract negotiations, employment disputes, and distribution agreements. Ms. Walters also represents a New York Times bestselling author, publishers, national television talent, and artists. On behalf of clients, she has negotiated deals with entities such as Bravo, NBC Universal, Warner Brothers, THINKFilm, TNT, Lifetime, Discovery, National Geographic, A&E, and Scripps Networks. In addition to traditional forms of media, Ms. Walters advises Seattle-based corporations on corporate image, use of likeness, and rights clearance. Ms. Walters worked in television news and entertainment for nearly fifteen years before going to law school and has relied on her background to successfully represent newspapers, television networks and local stations in state and federal court - - representative cases include:
